I love taking care of my teeth but regular brushing alone is not enough for oral hygiene. Some of you may have known that I decided to have my ortho last year, and I still can’t believe that it’s been year that I have this kind of apparatus inside my mouth. Crowding is my main problem meaning, there’s not enough room for my teeth! Whenever I visit my dentist monthly, she always makes sure that my mouth is healthy and free from harmful oral enemies. For my regular adjustments, my dentist take photos so she can make impressions on what kind of treatment needs to be done for the following checkups.
I always make sure that I get the proper products for my pearly whites. I have an ortho brush for regular cleaning from after breakfast-lunch-dinner times; mini spiral brushes for cleaning in-between tooth; a tongue cleaner; an alcohol/non-alcohol mouth washes for a fresher breath; and a toothpaste with enough fluoride to keep my teeth in good condition.
My dentist recommends 3M Espe products. They’re a bit pricey but it works (at least for me, which what I think).
First product that I like putting on my teeth. The Clinpro™ Tooth Crème 0.21% w/w Sodium Fluoride Anti-Cavity Toothpaste from 3M Espe.
I don’t use this as regular toothpaste; instead, I put it like a cream in my teeth after brushing in the evening. Basically, you dry your mouth first before putting the cream. Then, let it rest for 30 seconds. After that, you lick your teeth using your tongue. In that way, you spread the cream thoroughly and activate the tri-calcium phosphate ingredient in the toothpaste when mixed with your saliva. I like it because it helps lessen tooth stains prevent my teeth from developing white formations (I don’t know what dental term I should be using). There is a breakthrough formula with it that benefits well your mouth! Plus, it comes with a vanilla mint flavor. (See your dentist first when using)
Another thing I just had is the fluoride vaccine. The Clinpro™ White Varnish with Tri-Calcium Phosphate from 3M Espe.
Again, it contains fluoride, calcium and phosphate which naturally found in our saliva. Like the Tooth Crème, when it contacts the saliva, it produces calcium and fluoride that protects well our teeth. Clinpro White Varnish penetrates and seals dentin tubules and it also prevents tooth from decaying. With the proper tools, my dentist applied the cream and let my mouth open for a couple of seconds before closing. Rules apply which include soft diet, not to drink hot liquids, and not to brush my teeth for 4-6 hours (or better if you brush the next day). Necessary precautions should be taken and you should be able to follow your dentist’s supervision during the manufacturing process for the product to work.
These two products help a lot for oral hygiene. Not just for a healthy mouth but, for a better you as well! :)
